Welcome everybody.
"Calcutta Fertility Mission" is starting its journey. The effort to build such an organization, with availability of the facility of not only treatment but also research, is continuing for more than a decade. A dedicated group of experts, who have the perseverance, basic and advance information on the subject and power to withstand the failure, are the corner-stones of such an organization. Bengal is gradually coming up again in different fields and as medical specialists, we want to keep pace with it.
We have the strong leadership of Prof. B. N. Chakravarti- the legendary figure; nationally and internationally famous in the field of reproductive science. We have academic leaders like Prof. Anandadev Mukhopadhyay and Dr. S. P. Gon Chaudhury, who have made global impacts in their respective fields of work. Their innovative ideas can stimulate us to formulate various research programmes. We also have one administrative person amongst us. He is very high police official- Mr. Surajit Kar Purakayastha; basically an ITT engineer, who can bring some administrative awareness for rearing such an organization like ours. The chieves of different professional member bodies like Prof. Alokendu Chatteree and Dr. Kushagradhi Ghosh will help us in propagating the information and knowledge produced here, amongst the medical fraternity.
Infertility treatment is getting costlier day by day. More and more investigations are making it costlier. Appropriate clinical knowledge and procedure to cut the cost is our effort and aim. We want to bring the cost within the common people. The treatment of infertility does not mean performing laparoscopy or carrying out IVF programme only. It is highly important to learn basic aspects of the subject, along with the skill of counseling and providing psychological support to the sufferers. Knowledge propagation is backed by source of information, for which we have provided a library, with E-information facilities.
This centre is involved in research on reproduction not only for fertility promotion, but for fertility control as well. Our work on cervical mucus to find out a specific protein is on the way. We have published our findings on tubercular infestation of endometrium, causing reproductive failure. We also propagated our findings about unnoticed minor tubal defects as cause of so-called unexplained infertility. We are giving stress to train the new-comers in this discipline, to prepare experts for the future. Holding workshops for interested doctors is on the way. We are looking for your blessings and best wishes, for serving the people properly. |
